Who We Are

Midwest Transport Services (MTS) is a for-profit non-emergency medical transportation provider proudly serving the local and long-distance transportation needs of communities throughout Michigan, Ohio, and Indiana.

Founded by Mark and Annette Smith, MTS grew out of our collective experience and genuine desire to help others. Annette worked for years as a pharmacy technician, regularly engaging with and assisting area seniors. She saw firsthand the growing need for more timely and reliable transportation support — particularly for seniors and those with mobility or memory care challenges. Mark, a US Army veteran and Certified Project Manager, recognized the same underserved need from a different angle. Together, we launched MTS to deliver something different.

Unlike curb-to-curb services, MTS is committed to door-through-door transportation. Whether you require ambulatory or wheelchair assistance, our staff safely escorts clients from inside their residence or facility to a clean, comfortable, and modern ramp-equipped wheelchair-accessible vehicle. Upon arrival at the appointment, our trained staff escorts clients to check-in.

Rather than focusing exclusively on volume and profits, MTS is focused on providing exceptional, timely customer service with the compassion you and your loved ones deserve.

Dispatch & Coordination

Because we provide both local and long-distance transportation, effective planning and communication between dispatch and key facilities is paramount. Our dispatchers receive extensive training on our integrated technology systems and are responsible for:

• Customer intake
• Preparation of daily schedules and trip manifests
• Effective driver management and scheduling
• Trip management and oversight
• Coordination with facility personnel
